Hello
« on: March 02, 2009, 06:41:03 PM »
I am a born and raised new Jersian but spent my life up north on freshwater.

Now I'm living in Monmouth County and just bought a boat. Which I'm convinced is the reason for the 10" of snow we just got  rgmn

I've been an avid fisherwoman since I could hold a rod but when it comes to saltwater I'm a newb!Looking forward to learning from all of you.  I have a lot to learn and trolling through these posts I have discovered a wealth of info. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks all. So far most of my questions, mostly about rods and reels, have been answered by the search function on the forum. I prefer to search out my info instead of asking the same questions that get asked over and over  TT^

However when I start to look at lures I get totally overwhelmed so I'm sure I'll have questions soon.

looking to do mostly Navesink, Shrewsbury Rivers and Raritan bay fishing and I'm not all that particular about species...yet. I prefer casting and trolling since that is what I know but am looking forward to experimenting with drifting baits and jigging for fluke.

Hubby of 21 years in a few weeks is still a bit iffy on the whole blood and guts, stinky fish thing but he is improving.  If I bait his hooks and take the fish off he's ok with fishing, and I am NOT allowed to keep bait in the freezer.  Long story that includes a 3 day power failure in August!  cfzd

I'm really excited about our boat.  We just got a great deal on a new, '08 leftover, Whaler 190 Montauk. To be delivered next week.  I can't wait. We've been sans boat for almost 10 years. Considering calling it "Economic Stimulus"  ;D

slt  Chips Ahoy and welcome aboard Ms Karen and Hubby!

Grab a cup of tea, or coffee (or wine, a NJSF favorite) and settle in.  Please keep your hands and arms inside at all times, fasten your seatbelt (make sure it is low and tight across your hips), be aware that the nearest emergency exit may be behind you....oh wait. Wrong warnings.

But seriously, keep kleenex nearby. You'll either need it for sad tears, happy tears, laughing so hard you're crying tears, or to clean off the monitor should you laugh while drinking above mentioned libations.   rofla

And chocolate. Never EVER come to the forum without chocolate.   ;D

Enjoy your new boat!

Again, welcome!
