4/02/09 Afternoon Striper trip Raritan Bay
« on: April 02, 2009, 07:52:00 PM »
Took the boat for a shake down trip after its short winter nap. I decide to grap a bushell of clams and do some striper fishing. Well as nice as it was inland , that was not the case on the water.. A cool steady east wind made it a little raw out there. Then also had wind against tide which sucks!!.. I had three run offs and no one home.. Boat run well but realize I need to make a call to the Sinker man. almost out of the lead. The water temps on the surface range from 52.3 to 47.1 .. Beaches were packed and even a truck park out on the beach east of Keyport??? I think I wait 2 more weeks.

I don't think you will be able to wait 2 weeks before your next trip. I'll bet you a bushell of clams we will all read a post from you next week!!!
