I had some time today to wash and wax the boat and also work on a project that was long over due, the stock live well lid cutting board. Last season I lost 3 knives and a lot of cut bait off the back of the board and into the splash well and ocean.
A few months back I was able to pick up some 1/2" starboard at a steal.
I needed sides to keep from loosing stuff, and the ones on the market are not the size I wanted, and also over priced, so time to use my starboard. I cut it more square than the stock board to give me a few more inches of workspace.
I chose to keep the side from coming all the way to the front of the board so I could fillet fish that are longer then the board itself.
The cuts in the rear corners to drain water was not my idea, I seen that on one of the commercial boards. I used a plastic knife holder I picked up for $1 at one of the local fishing flea markets over the winter.
Looks and works good. Now I've got to give it a sea trial. <'((((><
