I went out late last night to throw some plugs at a couple of my local spots for a bit. Not a terrific night of fishing, but I did manage to catch a couple of short stripers. After discussing the merits of Mambo Minnows yesterday, I felt the need to tie one of those on. My first fish of the night went 27 1/2" and was caught on a yellow one. My other one was about 25" and was caught on a pink RONZ.
The highlight of the evening was the otter that surfaced right in front of me. And I've got to tell you, it startled the heck out of me! I saw a dark figure gliding through the water and, at first, I thought it was a fish, until he popped his head out and stared at me. He was no more than just a couple feet away. I would have taken a picture, but he was gone too quickly. Pretty cool!
