Take A Soldier Fishing Trip Slaughters The Bass
« on: April 25, 2009, 03:42:16 PM »
Today we had the pleasure of hosting a Take-A-Soldier Fishing trip, perfect weather greated us.

On board was Lt Col Ken Tavares, TSgt Andrew Silkworth and Sfc Kevin Moore all from Maguire Air Force Base and have seen Duty in the Middle East.

Hit the back of the bay at slack tide, trolled up 2 Keepers 28 and 30" and 9 shorts 20-27". Bite dies and i made a run to the outside.

Set up on the outgoing, once the slick was working the Bass were biting, most of the time we had at least one fisrt on, did pull several double headers and atriple.

Finished the day at this location putting 6 more keepers in the box (2 bonous fish) and released about 25shorts or fish under 30".

Had some nice fish in the boat from this location from 34-39". Lt Col Tavares had a monster on the line only to have it pop off just before the boat.

An outstanding day of fishing with a great bunch of guys. Cannot put into words the appreciation these young men have for what we do for them, and as i told them i cannot thank them enough for what they do for us.

That is a terrific program.  Thank you for taking our real life American Hero's out for fishing and thank those brave people for their service to our country.

The Canyon Runner does a trip on July 4 for veteran's from either Iraq or Afganistan.  That is also a terrific situation.
