New rules for washing your boat at a Marina.
« on: April 30, 2009, 09:12:48 AM »
Check this out!!!! More crazy rules and expense for the boater/fisherman.
As of June 1st, all Marinas must have in place a washwater recycling system for the washing and cleaning of boats. If your boat is in a slip, it is ok to wash it when finished. However, if you haul your boat out on your trailer, there must be a designated area to wash or rinse your boat/motor down. This mainly will effect the people who pay for a season pass to keep there boat at the marina on the trailer instead of towing it home.
As you know, this expense may be passed on to the boater.
Imagine a Saturday and Sunday late afternoon with numerous people returning back to the ramp and waiting in long lines on a 90 degree day?
The MTANJ is in the process of getting another extension again for the marina owners as the cost of a system can reach into the many thousands of dollars.
What's your thoughts? I know mine.

I think our thoughts are all the same.  Enough is enough.  We did it before and we will do it again at the ballot box.  Those that are with us get a vote those that show a hint of wavering are finished.  2010 is not far off but the havoc that is being caused is devastating to all who love the marine way of life.

So you will need a special area to wash your boat, but, under the public access rules, John Q Public has free roam of the whole Marina 24 / 7 ???  5hrug 5hrug 5hrug  <'((((><
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><
