Prop
« on: May 12, 2009, 03:14:41 PM »
Hey my prop on my C.C. with 150 2stroke Yamaha has nicks and a few rugged edges. Is this going to make a difference in my performance? It is not Stainless steal. If I replace it should i get a Stainless Prop? I know they run around 500 bucks and I don't have that . Can I file these edges down a bit to smooth it out? Thanks. grtn chrz

send it out to get reworked. If you try doing it yourself you might unbalance it. I cant remember the name of the company that does it. It cost $50.00 to have it done. Cant remember the name of the company though.

i think the place is atlantic propeller services.  they are in edison, nj.  i know there is another place on rt 37 on the bay side of seaside heights.  i am sure there are plenty others.  also, you can just replace it with another aluminum one for around 100.  might as well do that and get the old one fixed as a spare.

Take it to a prop shop, if you try to fix it most likely it will be out of balance...also if it is banged up it is prop out of pitch, effecting motor performance, etc.

As was said Atlantic Propeller is a good shop

I believe the name of the one on Rt 37 is Ocean Propeller.

It is Ocean Propeller and it is just before the Mathis bridge on Rt 37 East.
