Irish Ayes 5-24 Striper
« on: May 24, 2009, 04:35:51 PM »
Today Capt. Joe had Bob Cole, Harold, Capt. Mike and I out for some more Striper fishing.

Capt. Joe headed North towards the rocks marking bait along the way but not many birds or bait being chased on the surface. We set up with some snaggers and diamond jigs and put out some live liners out with the fresh bunker.

A few run offs here and there but Capt. Mike put the hook in a nice one and the fight was on. Not long after that the wind really kicked up, sky went gray and temp must have dropped 15 degrees or so. We worked that area a bit longer with a few more run offs but no takers. With the threat of thunderstorms Capt. Joe headed back towards the inlet so we were a bit closer to home.

While on the drift there was some big action just east of us so we ran right over and saw a mix of Blues and some very big Striper busting out of the water. All lines went in and Capt. Joe put the hook in a nice one...Capt. Mike put his rod in the holder grabbed the net and his rod bent in half. After a few minutes of chaos Joe and Mike landed 2 really nice ones!

Total for the day was 3 all between 25 and 30 pounds and 15 or more run offs.

Thanks Capt. Joe!! Had another great day TT^

It was good to have you guys aboard today. Too bad we couldn't hook up with all the runoffs.

It was an awesome sight with the bass crashing the bait on top like that.  w00t w00t

Good Job Joe. I heard the bite was crazy out there.
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!
