Monday Fluking
« on: May 26, 2009, 08:06:52 AM »
Headed out with my Dad and son this morning.  Things started out slow.  My dad got the first keeper of the year, a nice 20".  We moved aroud a lot trying to find the keepers. I managed 3 with one at just under 5# and my son got one.  We also had the usual shorts and sea robins mixed in.  We fished from way back in the reach out to the hook with the better action by the hook.  There wasn't as many boats as I thought there would be there.
I saw boats from Belmar, Brielle, and Pt. Pleasant way up at Old Orchard.  I don't know what they caught, but it seems like a long ride to jig blues, especially with all the reports of 40# stripers down their way.

Nice report, not too shabby of a job on the keepers and the shorts will keep you busy.  t^

kevmac, take it easy on those so called out of towner boats.....  I can understand your frustration but they are pumping money into local businesses during a very tough economic time!  Good luck next time!
