memorial day family bassin
« on: May 26, 2009, 11:17:33 AM »
Headed out yesterday with my wife, son, daughter, sister and brother in law joe(both of which had yet to catch a bass)Got to long branch and started snagging from the many schools of bunker, was marking bass but after only one runoff decided to head further south. Found some big schools off of deal and after 15 min of drifting it was game on. My brother in law was first to hook up and he did a great job for never catching a bass before, while we were netting that one my sisters rod went off with a bigger bass on the end,we all had a good laugh as she wrestled an approx 25lb bass to the boat. It was nonstop action for the next two hours. I gave capt joe a call who was down in belmar at the time and he got into some of the great fishing. I got my personal best 51".I didnt get to weigh it because I saw no need in killing such a great fish and released it besides we already had seven in the box
