Will be fishing tomorrow.
« on: May 29, 2009, 04:15:43 PM »
I will be fishing tomorrow on the Eagle, got the boat from 7-3. Going for stripers, what should I do ? I'm going to of course mess around for fluke and seabass too, but what setup would you use from boat? I've never fished for stripers from boat. Stupid question, but yeah. Thanks  t^

Hi Mark,

Your best bet is to call and find out what they recommend.  I know some boats still like to use mono for safety reasons.  Will you be trolling or just slinging bait?  You should be able to find these things out plus they might have all the tackle you will need on board either it comes with the charter or you can rent it.

Good Luck

Happy Catching

Find out if they will be anchored up or drifting. If anchored up, they will supply bait.

If drifting, bring some Ava's and jig em up.

Good luck.

im gonna bring one strong setup this way i can use bunker or clams.... and im gonna bring a 9 foot ugly stick, im gonna toss large spoons and some big rubber fake bunker and let it sit... im not sure, i want some seabass and fluke too so i might use one of there rods they have on the boat, im pretty sure were probably drifting. i have 30 lb test on my strong set up and i have 10 lb test on my 9 foot ugly stick, but thats just leight tackle messing around for blues and maybe snagging some bunker, i dont know... ill be out there were taking off at 7 am on the eagle, ill have the only bright yellow/green ironworker t shirt on out of everyone, so if anyones out there tomorrow morning, yell to me... good luck to all fishin
