out of Sayreville this morning with fishing buddies Dave and John with a 1/2 bushel of clams , some bunker and squid.headed straight out to Flyns Knoll area, anchored and trying for the striped ones by a little after 8,all we got were a couple bluefish and a nice pick of skates and a sea robin to boot.hung here till around noon, broke anchor and set to drift for the flatties.picked up one short on the first drift, and then we were in a massive garbage slick that couldn't be avoided,so headed back bay and set to drift off Keansburg, was able to stay in a long drift with the incoming tide and picked a few shorts, gradually worked back to the triangle area where I was able to get a 21 incher on a sea robin strip.then worked the train bridge area with a few drifts and picked a few shorts.most of the shorts were in that just over 17 inch range.headed in around 5,nice day on the water.just got done gassing up and giving the boat a quick wash down, have some bait left over, picking Hon up in the morning early, going to try a 1/2 day trip for the striped ones and some fluke if no go on the stripes.
