Report- Sunday June 7, 09

Left the Marina around 7Am with Chris (Cashin) and Steve (Mass Baster) aboard. We Made  run to Breezy point in Brooklyn and found hundreds of boats, some anchored, some drifting lots of birds around and guys driving full throttle towards them. .  We jigged alittle with no luck. I decided to make a run for the Shrewsberry rocks. We spotted a few Bunker pods on the way so we did the old snag and drop with no luck. We kept some livies for the next stop. Upon arrival at the rocks the crowd was drifting and anchored. We dropped anchor and chummed some clams. We live lined the bunker.  The Bluefish made a nice meal out of the Bunker and they bit through the leader lines. We pulled anchor and drifted for Fluke. We had a few quick hookup's with shorties and Dogfish and Skate. After a while we trolled back North towards the hook with no luck . I decided to make a run back up towards the Keyport area and had engine trouble while rounding the tip of the hook. I think I need a new fuel pump because it felt like the throttle was being moved back and forth until it will stall. This is the same old problem I have been having every once in awhile. I already changed all the fuel filters so I am narrowing it down to the fuel pump or carburetor. Hopefully I can get this fixed fast.   Good Luck,  Eddie

Good report Eddie    Sounds like a kinda  tough day.. I hope you get your boat issues settled quick..but If you find yourself in need of a ride, just let me know

Ed, Sounds like some bad gas or dirt in the filters.I changed mine out and will do another change soon.Thank you E10.

           I pulled the carb today. Its a Rochester quadrajet off my 350 cu Crusader. I dropped it off with a rebuild kit to my friends shop. I hope to have it back in a couple of days. Lets see if this is the problem.
