Friday evening fluking on the Munky...
« on: June 13, 2009, 10:38:59 AM »
Got the call from Mike and the weather finally broke. Shoved off around 4:30 or so and stayed local. Bounced around the Keyport flats which are LOADED with fluke. Unfortunately ALL shorts but steady action for a few hours with everything from postage stamps up to 17 3/4".
Watched in the flat calm conditions "something" rolling and tail slapping tree branches floating in the water next to us. Tossed surface poppers which got slapped around but couldnt set a hook or get a look at what the fish was??
Stopped on some birds right outside the harbor to play with the cocktails harrassing spearing. Stuck 2 in the box for strip baits for this afternoons trip, then called it a night.
Flat calm evening and the rain FINALLY OUTTA HERE. ...and I'll admit, GULP did work well  ::)

yeah, sitting on the water, even without catching is a good way to get your mind off your other problems.

Its the perfect cure for stress.
