Off to Hawaii
« on: June 16, 2009, 12:28:04 PM »
Okay - I'm leaving next week for Hawaii. I'm going to Kauai 5 days, Big Island 5 days and the to Oahu for a brief visit...Any suggestions for Captains/boats. Last time I went 7 yrs ago i went with the recommendation of the concierge (stupid) and came up with squat.
Any suggestions would be great...

Howzit shayshay,

Nice to have you on board.  I will be down there on Oahu from the 4th to the 10th.  I am not sure about the charters but I know I will be doing a bunch of surf fishing as I have been in contact with a couple of guys already.

We are staying on the windward side of the island right on Wiamanalo Bay.  Once I find out that everyone is doing I will have a better idea as to mu fishing schedule.  I hear the Ulua fishing is lolo lately.

Again Welcome Aboard.

Happy Catching

Aloha

Paul

I understand that Ahi and some Ono is in. I would luv to hook up on soem mahi mahi if possible. Enjoy your trip and we can share with everyone on our return. Be safe!

If you want a good Hawaiian site I have just been on and for the most part the natives are friendly.  Literally.

I signed in and have made a souple of contacts already.  Pretty cool.

Pictures should not be a problem as that is the main reason for my trip out there.  I will be shooting a wedding on Wednesday after the 4th of July.

I usually pop at least 500 for weddings.  With digital it is so easy to max out the card and still keep going by just popping in a new one.

I fished on a 41' boat 2 weeks ago called happy times in Kauai,  It was only a 4 hour shared charter and it cost me around $160.. The crew tried hard but the seas were too flat .. I would rather of done a 6 hour or 8 hour charter.  Try to book a longer charter now the fishing is just getting started in kauai.   good luck, Eddie
