How do YOU store your rigs?
« on: June 05, 2007, 03:13:29 PM »
Thought this would be a good topic to share how you keep your tacklebox nice and tidy?  I've heard of people using everything from corks to making up a custome jig to hook and wrap line around.  Im always looking for some good ideas?

Go to Home Depot.  Get a sheet, I don't recall if it's 4x8 or 2x8, of the shelter wrap insulation foam board (unofficial name). Cost about $5.  I cut it down to fit a see-thru shoe box (dollar store).  Cut small slits in top and bottom.  Insert the hook into the top and wrap the leader around the board locking the leader into the slits.

The board will last a lifetime.

I buy small plastic bags about 4"x6" perfect size to coil up the rig and tape or staple shut.

I bought about 300 of them and paid around $12.00, mainly cause I tie my own rigs over the off season. Wife just loves cleaning up the tiny pieces of line ;D

i hardley ever have enough rigs to worry about storing, as i tie them all myself as needed. i just leave the rig on the pole hooked to an eye.

i have a plano box full of terminal tackle, and just rig up what i need, easy, simple, and dont need a ton of storage.

I store my flies in a Plano unit (not many left Have to start tying more soon). As far as my plugs I also use a number of Plano cases but for my terminal rigs I usually tie as I go along not much to keeping up with that.

For those I put them in small baggies so they don't get tangled.
