Sea Hawk 6/24 charter
« on: June 24, 2009, 04:30:48 PM »
Had a group out from the American Legion today. Great bunch of people that had lots of fun even though we could just manage a pick of fish up to 4lbs. This charter definetely knows how to have a good time and make the most of a slow catching day.

Conditions were just not there and couldn't get the fluke going. Current started to move at the end of the trip but just couldnt get the drifts we needed. Could be a different story on Magic Hours and we will sail if we have enough interest.

Thanks again to those on the charter today. slt

To Capt. Mike and the crew of the Sea Hawk thanks for making a SLoooow day a good day.  Even though the bite was not on I believe everyone on board that was trying to catch caught something. Thank You for your efforts in some trying conditions.  By the chatter on board I thing they are trying to plan another trip in late August so I might be out once again with you.

To Val and the crew from the American Legion thanks for a great time I have never been on a fishing trip that was serving such a spread as you guys.  Your hospitality was truly noticed and appreciated.  If you guys do have another trip my Uncle Joe and I will make every effort to be there once again.

As far as the catching goes it was not your killer bite but there were a steady stream of fish coming over the side not many keepers but that was okay as my fishing neighbor Mike almost took the pool (nice pool by the way Val) that was exciting.

My Uncle Joe was able to get 1 keeper fluke nice size but not even close to the winner Larry congrats Larry for a hard time in the keeper category.  As for me I had about 8 fish none even close either to keeper size, but the Blue fish at the end was a keeper nice size and not to big so it went home for the table.

Everyone was using spearing / killies and cut squid as I was staying to bucktails and I have to say I think that day it was about even in the catching category.  I did try something new out by Gulp cut belly strips in chartreuse. I think if there were more bass around or blues it might of worked but for yesterday they did not produce a thing.  I caught most of my fish on a white and pink 1oz bucktail with a 4" swimming mullet in white.

In all the Crew worked their tails off thanks Rob and crew of mates ans as for Capt. Mike  thanks for trying to put us on the bigones the day was a rough one with a little rain a few times but the effort you put in was great again.  Thank You.

If you are up in the Perth Amboy area the boat to go out on is defiantly the Sea Hawk you will not be disappointed.  Although I don't think they serve that type of food all the time.  rofla

Again thanks to all that made that day a great one... TT^ grtn

Happy Catching

Paul
