Today I ran an open boat wreck trip. It was planned for 3 but one over slept(his loss
).We hit the inlet at 7:00 to find a tight chop and stiff SW breeze. Got on the hook at the first drop and laid pretty well. We grab 10 nice quality fish before the weenies took over. The conditions improved and I made the decision to check a few spots I have not gone near this season. The first was a little disappointing
a few nice fish but not what I was hoping for. The next two spots had some amazing amounts of life on them. We had two schools of seabass 20 feet off the bottom and only 15 feet from the surface. We were tossing jigs that never had a chance to hit the bottom. I have seen this in the fall but never in June. Again the amount of 12 inch fish in unbelievable. Bill and Steve ended the day with 45 keeper seabass after culling through a couple hundred shorts,1 ling and 6 out of season porgies. Porgies get to see what the inside of a cooler looks like on Wed the 1st
.Back at it again tomorrow. Catch em up all and good luck.
