IBSP 7/5
« on: July 05, 2009, 07:55:47 PM »
Well after a long day on the 4th having a huge party at my house for my gf's daughter I made it back to IBSP with my gf and her kids and some others friends for some swimming and fishing.

GOT SKUNKED once more. NADDA NOTHING ZIP!! Just some annoying kids who almost became my catch, need to learn what a fishing pole has at the end, HOOKS!

Nice weather all weekend and some good time fishing altho no catch, rather have that than work.

Once again I was given some fresh bunker by some nice gentleman walking by, BIG THANKS TO HIM, if you're out there.

Just put in your time and you will be rewarded.  Surf fishing is a lot harder that just dangling a line off the side of a boat and hauling in a fish.  Once you get to know the beach a lot better your catch rate will go I have no fear.

Man this Hawaii gig is something I will be posting some pictures and a report later.

Happy Catching

Paul

Good try again!  Sounds like surf fishing :-\.  I really enjoy it, but never expect to catch much.

Just the word HAWAII sounds nice...hope you are having a GREAT time Paul.

I think I am going to try some different tackle and see what works. I gotta guy some smaller hooks and try some different bait.

Will swim baits or bucktail lures work in the surf? I see them sold as surf fishing lures but just never thought I could cast far out enough to get anything.

I was hesitant to ask the other day, I had some of my gf's sons friends with me and the one kid lost his 5oz weight on his second cast into the surf and I told him, Hey go ask around to see if anyone is willing to give you a weight. He didn't want to do it, they are from up in Blairstown NJ and people are not as giving up there i GUESS.

if anyone came up to me needing help with equipment if I had it to spare I would gladly.
