07/10 Woodstock
« on: July 10, 2009, 09:24:05 PM »
Hi all,

Broke Shark River about 3:30 today with my Father and nephew out from the midwest. Thought about launching in the navesink (see members den)but launched close to home at SR. My gosh, when we were near the mouth of the inlet, felt like we were launching from the beach! Big curlers, left nothing but the prop in the water. looked like we were trying to boat up a wall. My fault for going out with outgoing, just about dead low tide.  nts . Just when I was thinking I was nuts, there was a pontoon boat about 1/2 mile from the inlet cfzd. Wouldn't want to be on that.  Suffice to say, we just made a loop up to Asbury to let my nephew say he was out on the Atlantic. Saw some dolphin. Surfboarded back in to SR inlet, kinda dicey. No fishing, guess we shoulda launched in the Navesink.

Hope for better conditions for the weekend.
