Question about Bait
« on: June 10, 2007, 01:34:22 PM »
This may sound kind of pathetic but I mine as well ask it. I live in passaic county and I have no saltwater near me, but I have a few brooks around my house. I can catch about 40 chubs/whitefish/baby carp, up to about 10 inches in length and as small as 2 inches in length. They are like giant Shiners. Obviously they would die after a little while in the saltwater but if I were to throw out an 8 inch chub for stripers or something, is that possible that, that would work ? PROBABLY NOT, but still, its worth it to ask everyone on here.

Fish On
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

Might make good fluke bait :)

I know plenty of guys who buy herring at lake Hpatcong and use them live for fluke. Very successful with it.

Where in Passaic r u?

I am in West Paterson myself.
