Saturday am Norma K
« on: July 19, 2009, 09:14:41 PM »

My son asked me to take him out on a party boat to "see what it's like".  He's fished with me on our CC and learned to handle a rod pretty well so this Sat. morning he, a friend and I jumped on the Norma K for a couple of hours of fluking.

This was my first time on this boat and what a FIRST class operation!  From the ticket and galley girls to the mates, everyone was professional and helpful.  The mates were great, the boat was super clean and well maintained.  Just what I was looking for my son's first party boat experience.

Long story short, tough conditions, tricky, fast drifts made fishing spotty.  My son landed several sea bass and the morning's first keeper fluke.  The mates gave him back slaps and really made him feel "like he fit in" with the mostly adult crowd.  He handled the rod, the bait and conditions like an old salt.

We managed another 2 keepers up to 21 inches and a few more sea bass before we lost the tide around 10:30am.

Thanks to the Norma K crew, just a about the perfect father/son trip.

The Norma K Fleet has been around for many years and it has always been a top notch operation. Looks like you  have a fishing partner for life. Nice Pic  t^

It's good to see kids involved in this sport. Got all 6 of my sons interested at an early age.
