Monster Ledge 7/25
« on: July 25, 2009, 08:59:14 PM »
Headed out to Monster Ledge this morning to chum up some sharks. As soon as I arrived at my spot in 240ft. I seen a shark on the top, fin sticking out of the water. Good sign. Got the chum slick going, lines out, waited a while, got one hit, no hook up, shark got a free bluefish meal. About an hour later, the fog rolled in and waves started getting bigger, decided to head back in. Ran back in 3-4ft waves, ton of boats in the river waiting for the RR Bridge, most were trying to make the 3:30 deadline for the P P Elks Fluke Torny. Will have to try sharking deep water  again another day. <'((((><
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Nice effort Darren. I am going to try tomorrow. Will have to see what the weather is like when I get up in the AM.

Sounds like you had a good trip regardless of the no takers.  Just being there had to be a blast feeding that toothy one  TT^

Yes yes, 3-4 headed straight into it with the entire fleet along side on the way in = not a barrel of laughs. The RR bridge was a scene indeed. We even got pushed out of the channel and caught some ground with the motor while waiting in line.

Good call on coming in, there's always tomorrow.

I wanted to test out some of my boating skills without endangering the lives of my freinds... so I took my wife! They say the sharks sometimes bite better with a little chop. <'((((><
