8-1 Manasquan Fluking
« on: August 01, 2009, 10:55:35 PM »
Broke the inlet at 12, headed to off the Thunderbird Hotel, just north of Seaside. 55 ft of water, only got 2 hits- the first a 25" fluke caught on a 4oz spro topped with a pink 4" gulp swimming mullet. Got a large skate on a gulp and smelt combo. Only had a few hours to fish- this area was very slow with the bites, but I did catch my personal best 25 incher, so it was worth it. Guy on my dock fished the SG reef with 5 guys and got 5 keeper fluke and several sea bass. Last time I fished the reef on weds, got a few short sea bass and 5 lost lines. Hey guys- please notice I always tell where I caught fish, what tackle/bait I used, what time I fished ( I fish alone mostly). Alot of you guys kill me with your vague/ secretive spots and generally few details that might help a fellow angler. I have been a member on this site for several years now, alot of you guys are great and helpful, but to those of you that post your marvelous successes without any intention of actually helping the fishing fraternity, you should rethink your motives.
