Raritan Bay evening trip 8/7
« on: August 07, 2009, 09:34:34 PM »
slept in this morning, spent the morning doing yard work and got the urge to go fishing, tried contacting Salty Dog on his cell to find out what the conditions were, knowing that he was out,got his wife,he forgot his cell phone.then looked on our contact list and got Tree beards cell and gave him a shout, knowing that he was out,he said blowing a little but ok.gave my friend Ken a call,he's at work getting out at 2 and it's a go.met him at the Sayreville ramp a little after 3 and on our way.started in the back at dead low tide and thru the slack.able to drift until the tide changed, then it was wind against tide  nosmly  fished the Red Bank reach and were able manage to bring in a few shorts, but with the wind against tide not moving, decided to move to the 19 in the reach and maybe being more open get a drift but no go,and out here it seems to be blowing more.moved back to the triangle area and worked our way from here back to the train bridge, but no more takers, headed in just before dark,it was great to get out, beautiful evening and caught a few shorts, didn't get the full skunk.  Kez

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!
