Headed out yesterday on a friend's 29 blackfin for some bluefin chunkin. We got to the spot around 6:30 Am that the day before my buddy caught and released 20 fish one to 80 lbs. We got on the hook and within a half hour we had some skip jacks come through and had a little fun with them with butterfly jigs. About an hour later we had another fish on a jig and it looked like a good one but lost it before we got to see it. We had a couple more bumps on the jigs but no hookups not one run off on the baits. We read fish in spurts all day but in the end NADA
You should have seen the fleet out there must have been over a hundred boats. We were on the hook and at one point we had not one but two boats within 100 yards of us with no clue they were in our slick. You just say to yourself if they don't know enough to stay at least a safe distance what would happen to them if it really got bad out there and it gets bad a lot. At least the weather and waves made it a beautiful day with good friends Thanks Bill and guys next time we will get them.
