First i have to say it was nice to be back on the water since having our little addition to the family!....and i went out today with a score to settle.....
Had John Rellah and company out today for a "make up" trip for a couple of bass trips that were not so good.....today the boys decided on some tasty fish as their quarry so off we went to fish the deep water snags. Started out at 4:30 a.m. so we could be fishing by first light. After a nice slow ride out we were greeted by a stiff south west wind and sloppy 3 foot seas and a fast drift needing the better of 8 ounces to hold bottom. The guys did an absolute superb job catching fish after fish despite the conditions and losing alot of tackle! Greg Gibbs took big fish honors with a 6lb Fluke today and John had a 3.5lb fluke as well. steve came in with a 3lb sea bass as well! Overall a superb day on the water with over 60 fish being caught today. Final tally...#6 Fluke , one # 4 Fluke, two # 3 Fluke and a few more keepers over 18-19 inches, and a good number of keeper Sea Bass!. Great job to all!
On the way in, we stopped to check out an overturned vessel at the point of the hook....can barely make out the hull in the last picture....looked like a go fast boat...i think (and hope) everyone was ok!
