Had my bow monkey Mike AKA LAB and Billy AKA Backdoor Billy on board today to try and get some irish cashola down in Belmar... left the inlet at 530 am and headed north....
Slow day with a slow drift for the most part... was power drifting all morning just to get some movement... Got a call from the Fish Monger boys that an ok bite was on but we needed something with a little more meat on it so stayed where i had decided to live and die for the day looking for Big Daddy.....
Billy was the hot hand man for the day getting 10 out of the 12 keepers we did get in the boat... after I boxed a 4.12 # fish things were looking dim till backdoor finally struck around the 12 noon mark.... a beautiful fish at 28 1/4 inches that went 9.25 at the scales in Belmar...
we headed to the club picnic/BBQ knowing we had the biggest fish for the Belmar weigh ins, but didn't know what was going on at the Manasquan weigh in....well after MANY clams, burgers, corn on da cobs etc..... we got the bad news... that a 9.6# fish was weighed there which bumped us down to second...
Upon Congradulating the the winner the good news bore through....Poor guy wasnt in the calcutta
CHA..... CHINGGGGGGGGGGGG We walked away with the second place prize AND the Big fish Calcutta which was another Crazy Good Haul....
another awesome day for the TNT Crew....
on a down side was dissapointed to hear one drunk accusing us of cheating or being cheaters as "SOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG HERE...NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY WIN OR PLACE IN SO MANY TOURNEYS" --- Get a life dude instead of another beer....
