Reach'in for fluke.
« on: August 19, 2009, 07:47:07 PM »
Netted the peanuts and headed for the Reach, around the 14 can with wind and tide in sync.Picked away at the fish.Towards the end of day, with all the peanuts now swimming belly up,we started to stow the gear and head for the barn.No live baits to use,put on two dead ones, which were hooked threw the eyes.Came time to leave, gave the rod a hard pull and felt resistence.24" 5# fish on the other end.No bad for unattended drag bait.Put five fish in the box.Tight Lines everybody.

Nice catch.

I too occasionally dead stick, especially when I'm solo. I got into the habit of regardless of rod tip motion or lack of, gently remove rod from rod holder and SET THE HOOK. Amazing how many times there's somebody sleeping on the end of my line.....  5hrug

I mean on THE WET END OF THE LINE  hhppy

Ben,my fishing buddy and I usually split the catch, but yes,the wife and I will be having fluke well into the cold months.Got maybe three more trips left in my fluke season. Not sure what kind of hell Bill is going to raise.
