Well.. I had a plan to try one more time for the Barnegat Keeper Fluke.. Hopes were high..
Only had Dad with me today..
First stop. Double Creek-- a few shorts.
Next stop Sail Boat Wreck.. shorts..
Headed towards the light house for the "Know Bite" and wow.. talk about a parking lot.. 70 boats at least..luckily 99% of the fleet was being cooperate. Was able to find a spot and set up drift..
Took a lot of shorts.. and It didn't look like the keeper fluke was coming.. But dad saved the season.. with a nice 22" Fish.. wasn't wide..but had the length
Spoke to Capt. Mike who was putting the Islander's Fares on some nice fish outside. Tried to punch outside.. got about a mile out and Dad was not liking the 5' waves we were up against. So we turned back in and tried a few more drifts and called it a day.
Well.. can't say it was an exiting fluke fishing season me.. hopefully next year they will come our way.
