Tried the bay and canal at night missed one weakie, no bass around didnt see much bait but it was low tide. few hours sleep up at 5 am to surf fish deal to about a mile south, no bass or blues but an outrageous about of fluke are in 3-5 feet of water on sand eels, they keep hitting my teaser, so i eventually switched to a 7' rod and 1/2 bucktail with a hacked up sea robin with a gulp sand eel teaser above, and in two hours had a career high hook for fluke up to 19" Its funny how they work that season
Alot were spitting up intact sand eels, add that to the bucktail and they were all over it.
back to the canal later in the day with some greenies and picked up a few tog but boy do I suck with hook up ratio compared to the other guys. Its a real skill hooking on bites
