Mudhole 10-1
« on: October 02, 2009, 07:31:29 PM »
Went out at 5am to the mudhole area in what was supposed to be 1-3s. More like 3-5s but wind was behind my back. trolled 3 albies 1 bluefin that was about 15lbs and a bonita. Cedar plugs and feathers. Can't tell you the temp because my xdcr is off. poss 68-70. The screen was covered with small marks which I assume was bait whenever we hooked up. There was draggers all over the area and when we left we ran into a huge slick of small ling and other toothy critters. All within 6-12"s. there were thousands. Such a shame. Anyway we scooped up a few dozen to try along the coast and boy did the fluke love them. We were pulling up 17" - 22" fluke left and right and they were swalling these thing completely. Wish we could have kept them. Headed back to the marina to find blues all over by the jetty and we caught a bunch of 10 lbers for the cooler so we would not go home fishless. Not a bad day. Wish I had some tuna steaks but I'll get them next time.

Funny how the recreational guys are destroying the fisheries, though 5hrug?  Not against someone making a living off of it, but there has to be a better way... rgmn rgmn
