Most local fishermen understand the importance of sea bass. With all the other species that we have and all the regs, sea bass have been the "fill the gap" fish that we all need. In other words ,we can always catch them when all else fails. They are truly a 12 month fish. Remember the whiting fishery ? How about winter flounder? How many blackfish ? Fluke ?  Weakfish ? At least I have my memories to tell my grandkids! There are still blues & stripers but last few months all the adult bunker being trucked out of Point Pleasant alone has definitely done some damage to the food source for the only fishery left.
