Fri Met Mike (aka Mboy) at 6 am at Wagners in Keyport.We loaded up The Funky Munky and off we went.
As we were heading out I pointed Mike in the right direction.
I started off using a 1 oz Andrus Smilling Bill white bucktail tipped with Uncle Josh pork rind. Mike started off using a Bunker Pattern Storm shad.The both of us casted several times and we did not get a hit.I suggested we make a move & that move paid off right away.I dropped down and landed a 27" Bass.Worked the same drift and never had another bite.Mike made a move & took us off of Keansburg and for the next 2 hrs it was dead.From a distance I saw the Flamingo III from Brooklyn off of Belford.Mike made a move and there were a few guys catching small blues.The Flamingo left and Mike saw tons of Birds diving & once we got there the water was boiling with Bluefish.Average Bluefish was 6 lbs and we had them up to 10 lbs.
We jigged for 2.5 hrs and tired ourselves out !
