Irish Ayes togging 11/8/09
« on: November 08, 2009, 09:07:54 PM »
Had Bob G and Skip, AKA Pop's Soul, aboard today. Left the dock at 830 and, meaning it was Sunday, we headed straight for the red church. Has a bevy of boats anchored up fishing for the toggies. Several boats had my recent spot surrounded so we found another rock pile to set anchor on.

Not in the water for a few minutes and our first keeper came aboard. Had our three man limit (3)in a short time and it was catch and release from there. Not having Hunter II aboard we had to make due with remembering the number of fish caught. I lost count after one.  ;D

Taking a guestimate I would put our catch topping three dozen. Had about a 50/50 mix of shorts and fish that were of keeper size (of course we only kept our legal limit).

A wind change moved us 180 degrees and put us off of our spot. The switch caused another boat to cover the area where we were so we pulled anchor and headed north. Found some bird play off of Long Branch and Skip got hooked into a short striper. Had some blues in the mix and then the action stopped. All were released.

Found a pile of rocks in the area and anchored on them. Played catch and release with few more tog and pulled to plug at 130 as I had a birthday party to attend.  :P

Will be out again tomorrow chasing any birds we see working and setting the hook for some more tog.  TT^
