Anthony at the tackle box in keyport told me last saturday guys were picking bluefin to 130 # a mile off the beach any one hear about this  just wondering if it's true

It is something that you can believe. I have seen bluefin at the Red Church area this time of year. Hard to catch. I have thrown everything I had on my boat at them and could not get a sniff.

I have heard of a few who caught them a couple of days ago.

Bluefins are usually there along the beach every fall if the food source is there.This year we have lots of sand eels along the beach so the bluefin come in to feed.The big ones will eat blues too! Getting them to hit a bait or lure is another story. In shallow water and with their speed they're all over. In spring it's similar. Chasing bait on the surface while migrating in shallow waters they zero in on their prey and have frustrated many anglers. Some are caught but they usually just put on a show for us  ;D

Saw them splashing and pushing out the water today on the Sea Girt Reef.  Also tuna are supposed to be on Manasquan Ridge.
