11/21 Manasquan Stripers/Blues
« on: November 21, 2009, 08:28:13 PM »
Almost a skunk today, but in the bottom of the 9th, it turned around!

Made a wrong turn out of the inlet (so it seems) and headed south towards seaside. We stopped on marks all morning but didn't see any birds. After some moving around we decided to head back north. On the way we stopped on some birds way in close to the beach but weren't able to hookup.

We ran all the way to Shark River after that and thats when we noticed the fleet about a mile off. After joiing them we immeadiately found fish and jigged up a few blues. Then I jigged the first striper on our boat... EVER! All the hard work paid off... finally. He was short, but he had stripes nonetheless.

Next drop, another short. Then my dad hooked up and we netted a 29 incher. A few more shorts, blues, and doggies and we packed it in. Glad we stumbled upon that fleet.
