The NJDEP's Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds anglers that the annual trout stocking public meeting is this Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Pequest Trout Hatchery at 10:00 a.m. The meeting provides an excellent opportunity for anglers to ask questions, voice their opinions, and give suggestions regarding New Jersey's trout stocking program. Changes for 2010 season will be presented and explained.
Freshwater fisheries biologists with the division will present information on the hatchery's production, as well as spring trout allocations for individual waters. The public comment period at the end of the program provides a chance to voice opinions and ask questions of the biologists.
Division of Fish and Wildlife biologists take public comment seriously and do report meeting outcomes to the Fish and Game Council, so don't miss this chance to have your voice heard and be a part of fisheries management in New Jersey!
The Pequest Trout Hatchery is located on Rt. 46 approximately nine miles west of Hackettstown in scenic Warren County. For directions, please visit
