Killifish??

I'm going out for flounder sunday on my brother in law's father's boat and I am bringing along my fly rod.  I've been hearing a lot of you guys using killifish for bait and want to use a fly that resembles one.  I saw a million pattern that all look different so I decided to look into what the fish looks like.  Well, I found out that there are dozens of types and I can't find any info on what type we would be using for bait.  Do any of you guys have any photos of what type of killifish you are using or even better, a killifish fly pattern that is known to work?  I'm also using clousers and various other minnow patterns.

The fish the fluke is chasing is the best pic I could come up with.  I hope it helps.

Hey shadyvito,

Try a clouser minow they work well and while your at it if you have a good grass shrimp pattern try that.  I have heard reports that they are finding grass shrimp in the bellies of some good size bass.  They are also good for weakies as well I will look for a good pattern and post it.

Bob Popovic's Surf Candy imitates a spearing which are working quite well for Fluke ocean side.

i never hear of fly fishing for Fluke.. I didn't think it can be done.. Fluke are finicky enough..

You can use an intermediate or a sinking line and you will do well.

Check out my avatar.  I caught that on an eight weight with a clouser two hours after having that argument with my cousin.
