Waxing, Bottom Painting, etc

Need some of the more experienced folks opinions on this.  I bought my first boat last fall, and this being the first spring and never done some of this before could us some advice.

I know I need to bottom paint it, its been power washed and still need to clean the hull, but what type of paint should I us.  Right now there is some sort of blue thats on there, previous own said it would self sell itself as it road on the water.  Anyone know what kind this is?

I need to wax the boat as well.  I know this will sound stupid, but what do i waz lol?  The hull to the paint line, do i wax the deck? 

I have been around boats, while in the water and on them, but never done this type of up keep.

are you going to be keeping the boat in the water? If not, no need to bottom paint unless you want to even out whats there. Prev. onwer may have used a self polishing paint. What type of hull? Fiberglass or Aluminum? I use an Anti-Fouling paint. I sand the old paint. Apply new coats. Interlux is a good brand.

I recommend you PM either Jawz or Matt from Task Marine for more indepth detail. There is also a very informative forum on this site from jawz about painting but can't locate the link.

Gimper, You rang?  Experienced ye say? aye have had s'more experience and excellent results with 'Wet' paint.  Hope this helps.

I do plan on keeping it in the water, and it is fiberglass.  I believe it is a self polishing paint, but can i use an anti fouling paint over that.  Thanks.

Does anyone know a decent priced place or person in the Red Bank area who does bottom painting? We bought boat last year and had fresh black bottom paint. Just went to the marina and took shrink wrap off the other day, and the paint now looks blueish and is chipping. I have a 5 month old son, so the wife rarely lets me out to do anything on my own. Would rather spend the time I do have fishing and not painting. I saw a price of $25 a foot somewhere, but can't remember where.

I'm jammed up in the yard where I'm located now and its tuff to get out and do any mobile service. Any chance of ya getting it down to me?
