Your absolutely right!  Another notch.  Took the family tubing on sunday down in the Navesink.  What's the story for fishing in that area?  Any insight is appreciated.

I have not fished the Navesink in a very looonnnnggggggggg time ...

I occasionally fish the Navesink, mostly the bridge.  You can fish for fluke on either side of the bridge but they are mostly shorts right now.  You can also catch bass under the bridge but I have not had much luck with the bass there this year, again mostly short.

fishing in the river is good if the weather doesn't permit you from fishing the ocean side.  Catching shorts are better then staying home, but the better fishing is on the outside.
