Pt Beach 4/24 A.M.
« on: April 24, 2010, 03:43:43 PM »
Finally got out after trying for the past 4 nights for the AM tide at Pt Beach.  God news is that I havent caught a fish this early in the season in years; bad news is it was 2 skats.....  rgmn.  Ocean was nice and flat for the 3 hrs i was out.  What i did learn is this, I have no idea how a bass hits from the surf anymore, i swear I missed a million bumps and tell tale signs and I also need HEAVY work on my casting.....
Good news is the boat will be in next weekend and well should be seeing double duty from the sea and land.
Say another guy fishing towards the end of the tide, so I am hoping i was around fish  ;D.
Any advice on casting and bass from the surf would be greatly appriceated!

The trouble with fishing is it was better before you got there, and after you left.

Good try and not skunked!

What type of reel are you using?  Conventional or spinning?

Here is a good thread that Luna Sea started!  Easy to do and gets good distance!

I am using a spinner with a 9 ft pole at the moment.
