Had Matts Charter today along with a Great Crew of Friends aboard for a day of Blackfishing.
Started To head to Blackfish Grounds where we had limits the last couple of Trips... During the Ride we looked to the east and seen tons of birds!!!
Plan B... To Good to pass Up...Broke and the Jig rods along with the Birds fish where busting and had top to Bottom readings... Multiple hook ups Instantly with nice keeper bass, afew shorts, and some Blues. Didnt take long to box up a Boat Limit and Released a bunch More By 8am. The Nice thing was there was only a couple of boats and us... Fish were spitting up lots of rainfish and a few Bunker in da guts as well.
Now I wish i could say Blackfishing for the rest of the day went that well... Headed to the area we had a good bite our last few trips and only had a few bites... Not the Kind of life we seen... Maybe the Water got colder on the bottom Fish Were very picky today...One Bite then leave...never finish... Non committal... We anchor up and get 1 or 2 Fish and then you just get scratched then nothing.
Searched around and made a Bunch of drops to try and get a some life and a bite going but to no avail. Once the tide was outgoing the water got dirty and we had even less Bites Wind didnt help.
So By days end we only wound up with 8 Keeper Blackfish and some shorts... But everyone did take home a Limit of Stripers and a Load of Blues. So We made the best of what the ocean offered us.
Great Crew... Guys were lots of fun but just wish the blackfish cooperated better today.

Last Tog Trip Tomorrow... Hope They Chew Good again for us... Then it will be all Stripers until seabassing!!!
