Friday 5-7-10 blues and striper limit.
« on: May 07, 2010, 08:16:47 PM »
Headed out of Sayreville around 7...looking for bunker but none around...headed straight to Flynn's and set up the trollin rods....got there at 8 and by 905 had our limit....heard about some great action off the Red church so headed that way to see if we could catch a trophy of sorts...nailed two 20lbers off the Rocks...no bunker that I could see tho did mark some schools?...One striper was liced up and we couldn't get him off the boat quick enough...they were everywhere....more blues, blues, blues...wind picked up ...headed back to Flynns and nailed some more blues and stripes before heading back...great day...great spring!

That was strange looking. Looks like they added a two story building on the rear end of a tug.  ;D

 t^ Nice

You have to be going thru a lot of shad body’s with the amount of Blues around.
Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

nice

I was wondering - if you are in possession of a boat limit of stripers are you allowed to keep fishing for them? I was taught to keep 1 less than the limit if you want to continue fishing; and once you keep your limit you are done. Not sure which is right...  5hrug

I guess you could always say you switched over to blues and the stripes ere bycatch?

Do you have a Stretch connected to one arm of that umbrella?  Looks like it in the first pic.

That striper hit hard and took the whole rig right into the stretch on the other side...for a moment we thought it was a double header on both rods cause they both went off almost simultanously....hope know ones out there attaching stretch 25's to an umbrella rig....that could be expensive! chrz
