Finding shipping tubes for rod warranty return?

I have a Shimano Teramar spinning rod that snapped below the reel seat when putting the hook to a runoff a couple of weeks ago.(I did land the bluefish with some difficulty)

Shimano will replace it but the cardboard shipping tubes I have are not the 3" diameter 76" length that I need.

I can use a pvc tube, but think the weight adds to the shipping cost.

Any ideas on how or where to get these cardboard tubes?

Call Shimano, I ran into the same problem with Shimano.  I called them and they said all they wanted was the part of the rod that shows the model number and length.  They will let you cut the rod down and ship just that small piece back to them.
