Broke the Manasquan inlet nice and early this morning with the intention of running north to the rocks. Well, we never got there, because we ran into a melee of bunker right off of Manasquan beach. The snag and drop fishing was fantastic while it lasted, with boats hooked up as far as the eye could see (including such local greats as the Fish Monger and Reel Class). Our first fish broke our net, which made the landing process alittle tricky, but we were able to muscle 5 stripers over 20 pounds into the boat (4 of them before 7:00), and let some more get away boatside. I entered the 30 lb club with this bigg'n...
We let them all go, except for the captain's big one (25 lbs, ~40")...
By the time the sun was fully up and the massive fleet had arrived, the fishing mostly shut down, even in the deeper locations. Still, an incredible morning on the water!!
