Striped Bass 5/21
« on: May 21, 2010, 06:18:17 PM »
John and myself out of Sayreville this morning at around 7 with a half bushel of clams, hit the open bay and marking a lot of fish near the Great Beds lighthouse, put out the Streches and worked the area with no touches.headed toward the hook and while coming across open bay, spotted some fish swirling on top, stopped and tossed top water plugs with one hook up that was lost.headed out to an area just in front of the Chapel Hill channel and set up clamming, just as the tide is swinging John gets a fat 30 incher and I pick away at Skates.wasn't long John hooks up again with a fat 35 incher that goes 16 lbs.hang here till around 12:30 with no further hookups other than my expertise on skates.head back bay and set out the Stretches just before the 9 and 10 can in The Reach.pick a few blues trolling, trolled to my spot where Monday NJSWF action Photograhper Eddie(Hunter2)captured us bringing John's big one in.set up on anchor here clamming and John gets a big run off and game on,big Striper, took awhile to get this one in,it goes 38 inches and 22 lbs, told John it's the same one we  released Monday  ;D finally I get a run off and get one at almost the 35 inch mark.continue here and pick a few blues.all Stripers but one of the 35 inchers were released to fight another day.didn't catch a lot today but the ones we did were beauties.headed in around 2:30,great being out on a beautiful day and happy with our catch today.   Kez
