Feels good to be back!!! Today I had the Phil K group out seabassing. The inshore grounds are setting up for some amazing fishing. Plenty of bait and plenty of fish. A few short drifts is all it took to locate a nice body of fish on some structure. Once I dropped the hook it was on. Seabass flying over the rails. It did not take the guys long to box up their legal limit of 75 keepers. On top of the great numbers was the quality of the fish. 6 fish over 3 lbs and the top fish was a nice jumbo of 4 lbs 13oz and 22 inches long. In addition to the seabass the guys had a dozen nice blackfish and 2 short cod that want back in the water. On the way in we made a few stops in the bay for some light tackle top water bluefish action. The action was a little slow (it was 1200 noon) but the still raised about 2 dozen fish and landed 6(around 3 lbs) before they called it a day. It will be nice to start looking for fluke soon.
