YSA Fluke 5/29
« on: May 30, 2010, 08:15:16 AM »
Headed out early for the season opener with Chris (tine) and Chris (Cooch). The plan was to try a few spots oceanside first and work our way back as the day progressed.
We stuck with the plan, and managed a bunch of shorts. Chris & Chris were having a 17-18" competition with Chris leading. The Captain was having a hard time putting a fish in the boat.
Moved around a few times, and with nothing in the box headed back to the bay. Lots of people had the same idea, boats everywhere-- coulda been a holiday weekend. A few more shorts away from the fleet in the CH channel/Reach area. Sun came out, saw Capt Bob troll by. Nice talking with you Bob, thanks for the tip, but only shorts for us there too.
Finally made another move back to the outside where we were getting some more driftage. Good thing cuz we picked up 4 nice boxers to 24". All keepers, no shorts mixed in on these drifts.  5hrug The Captain got the skunk off with the first keeper and added another nice one on the next drift.
Headed back around 3, final tally 11 short flatties between 6:30-2pm, 4 keeps from 2-3.
Maybe back out later, if not tomorrow.
GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS. REMEMBER THOSE WHO GAVE ALL.

Good talking to you Warren......yeas shorts seem to be the rule at this stage. Hopefully as the initial boat traffic disappears, the moon passes and the water warms things will develop quickly
