Absecon inlet / Brigantine area Snapper Blues

I used to love snapper fishing off Long Island NY when I was a boy.  My son is dying to catch some and is too small for the blues in the area.  When are the Snapper Blues available off of the Brigantine Bridge pier or in that area?  Thanks for the help guys.
